Q Gen-Next Sustainable Technology Pvt. Ltd., the innovator behind Ganzkuhl®, focuses on creating sustainable products to reduce energy consumption and enhance environmental efficiency. Their flagship product, Ganzkuhl®, is a ceramic-based Passive Daylight Radiative Cooling (PDRC) coating designed to reflect up to 98.6% of solar heat, significantly lowering surface temperatures and providing waterproofing benefits.
Need for Coating
Pradeep Metals Ltd. faced significant challenges at their Navi Mumbai facility due to excessive heat in critical work areas. Specifically, the electric cabin and work zones covered with translucent polycarbonate sheets were experiencing extreme temperatures, adversely affecting worker comfort and operational efficiency. The high heat is a common issue in industrial settings, leading to reduced productivity and increased energy costs for cooling. Utilizing a Passive Daytime Radiative Cooling Coating was identified as a potential solution to mitigate these issues and create a more comfortable working environment.
Pre-Coating Temperature Readings

Before the application of Ganzkuhl® PDRC Coating, temperature measurements were taken on the inner roof surfaces of the electric cabin and the polycarbonate-sheet-covered work areas during peak summer conditions. The recorded inside-roof surface temperatures ranged from 62°C to 64°C, indicating significant heat absorption and retention, which contributed the heated environment.
Coating Application
Ganzkuhl® Premium Grade was chosen for the project. The surface was thoroughly cleaned using water-jetting and two coats of the Base Coat were applied. After thorough drying of the base coat, a single coat of the Top Coat was applied. All the application was done by brushing. The roof was then left unused for a period of 24-48 hours.
Post-Coating Temperature Readings

Following proper surface preparation, Ganzkuhl® PDRC Coating was applied to the electric cabin and polycarbonate sheets by brushing, as per the recommended procedure. After allowing the coating to dry and cure for one to two days under sunlight, post-coating temperature measurements were conducted under similar peak summer conditions. The results showed a remarkable reduction, with surface temperatures dropping to 44°C to 47°C. This significant decrease of approximately 17–20°C demonstrated the coating’s high reflectivity and emissivity, effectively cooling the treated surfaces.
Conclusion
The application of Ganzkuhl® PDRC Coating at Pradeep Metals Ltd. resulted in a substantial reduction in surface temperatures, transforming the electric cabin and polycarbonate-covered work areas into cooler, more comfortable spaces. The temperature drop from 62–64°C to 44– 47°C not only enhanced worker comfort but also contributed to improved operational efficiency and potential energy savings by reducing the need for additional cooling systems. Ganzkuhl® proved to be an effective and sustainable solution for industrial heat management, aligning with Pradeep Metals’ commitment to innovation and efficiency.
